Still looking for creative and interesting food ideas for your kids? Here are some creative food options you can still make for your kids before heading out to takeaway food after the CB ends in a few days time!



1. Chocolate Chip Banana Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate chips

  • 4 slices whole wheat bread

  • 1 medium banana, thinly sliced

Directions:

Mix peanut butter, honey and cinnamon; stir in chocolate chips. Spread over bread. Layer two bread slices with banana slices; top with remaining bread. If desired, cut into shapes using cookie cutters.


2.Crunchy Granola Pretzel Sticks


Ingredients:

  • 1 package (12 ounces) dark chocolate chips

  • 24 pretzel rods

  • 1 cup granola without raisins


Directions:

  • In a microwave, melt chocolate chips in a 2-cup glass measuring cup; stir until smooth. Pour into one side of a large shallow dish.

  • Roll each pretzel halfway into chocolate. Allow excess coating to drip off, then sprinkle pretzels with granola. Place on waxed paper until set. Store in an airtight container.

3. Frozen Banana Cereal Pops

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup strawberry yogurt

  • 2 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal

  • 4 medium bananas, peeled and cut crosswise in half

  • 8 wooden pop sticks

Directions:

  • Place yogurt and cereal in separate shallow bowls. Insert pop sticks through cut side of bananas. Dip bananas in yogurt, then roll in cereal to coat. Transfer to waxed paper-lined baking sheets.

  • Freeze until firm, about 1 hour. Transfer to airtight freezer containers; seal containers and return pops to freezer.


4. Apple Yogurt Parfaits

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sweetened applesauce

  • Dash ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup granola with raisins

  • 1-1/3 cups vanilla yogurt

Directions:

In a small bowl, combine applesauce and nutmeg. Spoon 1 tablespoon granola into each of 4 parfait glasses. Layer each with 1/3 cup yogurt and 1/4 cup applesauce; sprinkle with remaining granola. Serve immediately.


5. Turkey Wafflewiches

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce

  • 1 tablespoon maple pancake syrup

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 8 slices white bread

  • 3/4 pound sliced deli turkey

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Direcrtions:

  • In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, cranberry sauce, syrup and pepper until combined. Spread over 4 slices of bread; top with turkey and remaining bread. Spread butter over both sides of sandwiches.

  • Bake in a preheated waffle iron or indoor grill according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown, 2-3 minutes.
